Vision & Mission

it@ab – excellence in ICT

it@ab’s mission is to promote the use of local resources and capacities in the SADC region and to disseminate and monitor international best practices in the ICT field.

In addition it@ab aims at encouraging the development of regional and global business linkages.

The it@ab network and its partners offer their services SADC-wide. New services and ICT solutions are added on a regular basis.

Quality of service, training and product development are ensured by certified IT specialists which have been trained for 12 months in Germany.


The it@ab vision

  • Global and regional business opportunities exist for enterprises in SADC through the innovative application of ICTs and networking;
  • A supportive environment for ICT-related business activities and ICTs are integrated into the social and economic development;
  • ICTs are used as business tools and ethical business standards are applied in the digital economy.

On the basis of this Vision it@ab will provide state of the art know-how in e-commerce and e-business in the whole SADC region and thus, open e-business opportunities to Small and Medium sized enterprises, to Institutions and to governmental bodies. it@ab promotes local business development as well as regional business cooperation. On an international level it@ab offers business contacts and cooperation opportunities with companies and institutions in South East Asia and in Europe.
Additional focus of it@ab lies on the development of the young generation. it@ab provides special IT training programmes for young IT-specialists on local, regional and international level.

  • Attracting financing for capacity and project development for a sustainable eMarket environment
  • Attracting investment for eBusiness development for SADC
  • Facilitating the development of regional and global business linkages
  • Building up capacities within the network through training of IT@AB consultants
  • Encourage the use of local resources and capacities
  • Promoting and monitoring IT@AB standards in the ICT field in SADC
  • Lobbying for the establishment of policies to stimulate markets in the ICT arena
